Great recap of the 1st day of Dell CAP. It was SUCH a joy to meet you finally! Sorry, had to say that ;) The event itself was very interesting, and I'm not sure that Dell knew exactly what to expect, but I think they communicated to everyone that they ARE listening, and will take the feedback they heard seriously.

I hope they do, as they have a real chance to make serious progress and improvements if they do.

Have a great weekend, Allen!

Re: So Dell Didn’t Need Kevlar Vests After All: Thoughts On The First CAP Day

I'm glad you feel the same way and I appreciate the comment (thankyouthankyouthankyou) on my fledgling and often neglected blog. Guess we'll see! ;)

Re: So Dell Didn’t Need Kevlar Vests After All: Thoughts On The First CAP Day

I agree Allen. This was definitely the wrong way for the reporter to go about getting information. People sometimes forget that there is a real human behind the avatars we see. Then again, this is the press we are talking about and they are not known for caring about our feelings as long as they get their story.

As a father of five children, I see this as an incredible wrong done to your son. At 17 years old, though very grown up in many ways, is still not always prepared for the trespasses of others. I am very sorry he had to find out that way.
